Not sure if this topic has been broached before.
The RAF roundel and fin flash is one of the most iconic insignia in the world. It has even sported a number of low viz variants and had its red bit removed when serving in the Far East.
National emblems do not change very often. Unlike airlines most armed forces don't see the need to rebrand themselves.
Canada comes to mind as a country that did a major rebrand in the 60s with its amalgamation.
Were there emblems proposed and never adopted?
Had the UK not got its monarch back in 1660 its armed forces might have been stuck with the attached emblem from 1649.
