Any Good Vector Drawing Programs?

I currently have Paint Shop Pro; but I'm looking towards drawing some US Army Nuclear reactor stuff, from source material I'm finding on the intardnaut; and I'd like to find a relatively cheap-ish vector drawing program optimized for drawing semi-complex shapes.

What programs do you guys use?

who is not cheap-ish, because "illustrator CS4" cost €855 !

opensource program "Inkscape" is cheap-ish - Gratis €0,0

yes illustrator is expensive....you can easely find a "student" release of painter for 100 euros...in paris at "surcouf"
