These texts, dated 1960-61, say this could be the best layout for supersonic flight... and I imagine with sympathy ::) a sky full of such twin-boom jets..., thanks Hesham! ;D

Hinge the wing in the middle and I can see a skinny SpaceShipOne design. :D
