Air and ground launched cluster submunitions

Anyone else notice just how crude the Russian iron-bombs are? They have terrible aerodynamics and look like WWII relics.
On the contray, WW2 bombs were more aerodynamic. That bomb looks like BA, Hannibal and the gang got stuck in a warehouse surrounded by enemies and knocked it together inside of 5 minutes.

There is this fellow from WW1 too:

I was under the impression that they were deliberately designed to be high-drag bombs, with aerodynamics similar to the US experimental "bluff" bombs from the 1970s.

Certainly the Soviets also developed the M62 series of low-drag bombs, which would be closest equivalent to the US Mk 80 series.
