AI color correction of scans (prints, slides and other transparencies...)

As I'm not an expert of photo correction, I try AI tools, my goal is to get either "natural" colors, either Kodachrome rendering without too much emphasis... In fact I would like to obtain the colors of the original transparencies. A few exemples below. Comments are welcome. I'm looking for tools that can process large scans (for instance 6000x4800 pixels) without giving the strange rendering of AI generated images.

Bottom one is more vibrant, but I suspect the upper one is possibly more accurate.

Looks beautiful, but some look suspiciously vibrant to me, like colorised BW pictures. Especially the very uniform flesh tones, or the bleu of the Sea Dart on your third post. I suspect that IA makes things up as always, can be subtle but noticeable.

Here two tries in Photoshop, just using Auto Colour (shift + ctrl + B) :



On some it needs a bit more work, as blue values left on the originals are so low, the Auto Tone alone doesn't restore them enough. On this one, I tilted the Cyan and Bleu values up a bit :



Looks less beautiful of course, but more accurate tones for vintages picts. But that's just me.
And at least, there is no "pixels moving", just the values are changed/restored, so you won't get funny faces in results.

If you have large number of picts, it can be scripted. Though large number of 6000x4800 pixels images will take a bit of time and lots of memory. Other soft can do too, Gimp has this kind of colour correction scripts. Check also GraphicConverter.

For Convair XF2Y-1 Sea Dart lovers, original photographs from Flickr account of SDASM Archives. AI prompt that gives rather interesting result from my point of view, though people faces seems to be a bit transformed unfortunately.

This time I tried AI colorization on a photograph of test pilot Gene May posing with the Douglas D-558-II Skyrocket. I'm rather happy with the result, though it looks not really natural. And the words ("aircraft employee temporary" or something like that) on the employee badge have been altered, lettres are now stains.
