Why?Pour rappel, seul le Rafale porté au standard F4 est en mesure de mettre en œuvre l’AASM 1000
--------------///------------------------
As a reminder, only the Rafale upgraded to the F4 standard is able to implement the AASM 1000
Because all French Rafale are upgraded to the F4 standard. Why?
IIR.Does Hammer have any options for terminal sensor outside SALH?
Interoperable and modular, AASM Hammer™ covers all the tactical requirements of air forces thanks to different guidance kits:
- INS / GPS
- INS / GPS / IR
- INS / GPS / laser

AASM has around twice the range, so +140km while PJDAM is at +550km but limited to 500 Ibs warheadsHey do they compare?
For AASM, Aresia in Valenciennes makes the whole range of Mk8x bombs, plus this :Does France have their own range of iron bombs, or did they license the US Mk80 series?
140km is not twice more than 550km.AASM has around twice the range, so +140km while PJDAM is at +550km but limited to 500 Ibs warheads
I worded it bad. Meant XLR AASM has twice the range of AASM140km is not twice more than 550km.
I find the double front fins very interesting. Looks like the front fins are fixed and the rear fins are the ones moving.Safran Plans Edge Joint Ventures Around Hammer, UAVs

Why do it that way?
On an unrelated note I wonder if Ukraine could get a deal with Boeing to licence produce the JDAM tail-kits in Ukraine?
But IIRC the Ukrainian tailkits are for Soviet FAB-series bombs, not Mk80s.They already produce their own, which is claimed to be cheaper.

If the Ukrainians are making Mk80s, then they will want to build their own JDAM tailkits.
I don't think that Ukraine would be delivering any Mk80s to the US while Russian troops are still on Ukrainian soil.It wouldn't be hard for the Ukrainians to make the Mk-80 series under licence also if they did licence-produce the JDAM tail-kits (Along with the folding wing-kits used by the JDAM-ER) they could act as a second-source for the USA.
