A-7D SAC?

I thought Strategic Air Command too and came around to the idea of a B-52 carrying two A-7s in a Zveno configuration. Call it the FOUF (Family Of Ugly ****ers).

IMO the feasible way that SAC could use the SLUFF against the USSR would be to station a squadron or two of A-7Ds in Alaska.

I started picturing a pair of mini-SRAMs on the Sidewinder rail launchers, somewhat like the big R530 missiles on the F-8 Crusader's fuselage pylons. (Not sure why but I find that much cooler than underwing carriage)

AI helped me modify this A-7D model... One way trip to Siberia!

A7 was one the smartest designs of its time. What a great solution for USAF for ground attack and medium depth strike. (And 2-seater was one of the best looking jets in the sky.)
BTW, am I overlooking something? Those SAC lists skip the B58 Hustler?
