So far I have not even looked for the other two volumes, but if you want to know more about the Golden Age of Crazy VTOL/STOL Projects in the USA....

You may still be able to get all three volumes from NASA for the asking if you like the old fashioned "book". These are great books with much history and engineering goodness, but be warned some of the writing is not for the "engineeringly challenged."

Let me see if I can find the exact data I was given. It is government printing so it ought to be available in print still.
 
These would have been quite useful, way back when I had my class on VSTOL aerodynamics. Thanks for the link, these are great!
