Not my video but this was my exact perspective when it happened.
The school I went to started a few days before, all the previous year they worked on a renovation and the dedication plaque says September 11 2001 even though that wasn’t planned. Got picked up right after the planes hit and watched from the bay for a while. The smoke and smell was all over for a few days.

Just to think about: The Dunkirk evacuation rescued 338,000 troops. The Manhattan evacuation rescued over 600,000.
With zero notice, in about 6 hours.
