Iran War Live Updates: Trump Says U.S. Is Considering ‘Winding Down’ War

The president made the comment on social media a short time after telling reporters on the White House lawn that he wasn’t interested in a cease-fire because the U.S. was “obliterating the other side.” The Treasury Department lifted sanctions on some Iranian oil.

How can you tell?

In itself, the overall size of the object and size of the explosion is too large to be from a shell (artillery 152mm).

Still frames, though blurry and thus subject to inaccuracies, give a few hints with regards to the size, shape and composition of the object. Notably: much bigger than a 152mm shell, an OD green body, the presence of an angular and gray block at the end extremity.

The US and Israel have struck Iran’s Natanz nuclear enrichment facility, according to reports.

Israeli media said the US had used “bunker buster” bombs, designed to penetrate fortified positions or hit targets buried deep underground, to attack the site on Saturday morning.

The International Atomic Energy Agency said it had been informed by Iran about a US-Israeli attack on Natanz. Israel’s military said it was “unaware” of the strike.

No leakage of radioactive material had been reported and there was no danger to residents living nearby, Iranian state media said.

Donald Trump has repeatedly insisted one of the key US objectives of the war is to destroy Iran’s capability to make nuclear weapons.

The Natanz nuclear site was extensively bombed during the 12-day war in June 2025 and the above-ground section of the facility was destroyed.

The complex was largely destroyed, satellite imagery showed, but some efforts were made to protect the site’s remaining facilities from future attacks. In early March, the site’s entrances were hit.

The US has begun to consider the possibility of using commandos to seize Iran’s nuclear material.

Two MEUs and a part of the 82nd Airborne. In the end, how many American troops will set foot on Iranian soil? 10000?

The Patriot batteries are probably put into automatic mode, a retired Turkish Air Force staff colonel (drawing from his memories that go as far back as the Gulf War) had talked about this to a magazine:

Something was shot down over Iran, I've seen claims of Israeli F-16s or American F-15s, could be a drone for all we know. Either way, something got hit by a projectile mid-air and the smoke plume of whatever it was can be seen rising in the background. I'll update this post when more conclusive stuff comes out.

The red cloud of smoke is consistent with the kind of fuel Iran uses for some of their missiles (incidentally, so does the DPRK on their Nodong).

This seems to be from the video of multiple iranian failures to launch a ballistic missile. I cant seem to remember where I saw it but it has that signature red cloud of smoke that i think is NOX. Dont think this is a shootdown of a aircraft

Iran’s reported ballistic missile attack on the Diego Garcia military base, deep in the Indian Ocean, has raised alarm bells across the West.

The Khorramshahr-4, a 20-tonne rocket that can carry 80 cluster munitions, is thought to have been the weapon fired at the joint UK-US base in the Chagos Islands.

Defence analysts told The Telegraph that the attempted strike on a base more than 2,400 miles away could put Continental Europe – and possibly even Britain – under threat from Iranian ballistic missiles.

“London, Paris, Berlin and every other European capital now lies within credible Iranian reach,” said Brig Gen Ran Kochav, a former Rusi research fellow and ex-commander of the Israeli air and missile force.

Most experts think the Khorramshahr-4 has a maximum range of around 1,900 miles.
This would put it in range of UK and other military bases in southern and eastern Europe, including Cyprus, Greece, Turkey, the Balkans and perhaps even Italy, Austria and Germany.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) claimed on Saturday that a range of 2,500 miles may be possible. This would put parts of Britain in range.
Cyprus has already been hit by a drone thought to have been fired from Lebanon. Two ballistic missiles intercepted over Turkey last week may have been targeted at Cyprus by Iran, said one Israeli expert.

“We heard about interceptions of ballistic missiles over Turkey. I don’t think that Turkey was the target – it is more likely Cyprus,” said Tal Inbar, a research fellow of the Missile Defence Advocacy Alliance.

“Regarding the ultra-long range of Iranian Khorramshahr, keep in mind that the ‘father’ of the dynasty, the Soviet R-27, even with less propellant, has a range of 3,000km.”

Mr Inbar cautioned that it was not clear whether Iran had mastered the technologies needed for successfully firing missiles at this distance – something that may explain why the reported attack on Diego Garcia was unsuccessful.

Neither of the missiles hit their target, with one believed to have been intercepted by a US warship’s SM-3 interceptor and the other failing in flight, according to The Wall Street Journal.
