LFA, at Volkenrode, was developing some interesting automatic gun actions, e.g. breech mechanisms. One would materialize as the LFA-44, using a new type muzzle brake to automatically operate the breech, using the Schwarzlose system. There are some allied post-war reports on this, like the BIOS "Description of the 2 cm gas operated machine gun, system Schwarzlose, LFA-44" pamphlet or the HEC.167 titled The"Schwarzlose" 2 C.m. gas-operated M.G. Breech mechanism operated automatically by new-type muzzle brake. LFA". If they probably still exist in physical form, they are buried somewhere I could not find (I have queried archives in the UK, USA, Canada,Australia and New Zealand, to no avail). They should exist, though, in microfilm format, most probably at IWM Duxford, but access is not feasible today. Does anyone know about this?
