« Phoenix », « Turman », « Sterh » and other Belarus UAVs

you shouldn't post such moustache nightmares tonight! I'd scream while sleeping :)

will try to trace it...so far guys from http://vif2ne.ru/nvk/forum/co/1714956.htm noted that

a). it's a creature born by mating two gliders with a new central fuselage
b). its wheels looks damn dummy

so, nice cheap Heronski TP we have)))

When reviewing MILEX-2007, Pravda noted a few Belarusian UAV developments including:

- Unnamed TUAV by the Military Academy of Belarus
- "Phoenix" UAV by KB Mir of Minsk State Higher Aviation College
- Unnamed UAV by Belspecvneshtechnika
- "Turman" and "Sterh" UAVs by Minsk Aircraft-Repair Plant
- GCS and onboard electronics (from Russian Brat) displayed by MTK (Molodechno Telecommunication Corp).

"'Sterh' is the experimental model which passes the first stage of flight tests. The 3m long UAV has 3,8 m wing span and the take-off weight of 53 kg ..."

I found a few photos of UAVs at MILEX 2007. None match :(

More Sterh details: span 3.75 m, range 150 km, payload 25 kgs, optional "rocket" armament.

Can anyone ID this one? http://www.texnika.info/photo/displayimage.php?album=15&pos=68

Good call, the booms definitely look like glider fuselages now that you've pointed it out!

Yes, it doesn't look like an airworthy example - probably a mock-up. Still, shouldn't prevent us from placing a name with it...

Nah, probably more like the basic Heron or Predator :) Heron TP is one of the largest UAVs ever built, apart from Global Hawk!
