- Why not a Turkish firearm like canik for instance?
- Maybe they wanted to please Trump by buying a US product.
- Are you serious? Gifting everyone a Turkish copy of a Colt Python to show the potential of their country? ludicrous

In all fairness, this is something that came in a display case, was meant to stay in a display case and will probably be exhibited inside another display case if it is ever seen again. In United States, gifts like these are displayed at presidential libraries, which is the entire point. It seems very unlikely that any world leader will ever open up the presentation case. However, decades from now young school boys will briefly look at this gun on exhibit at an otherwise boring museum. “That sure was a cool gift from the president of Türkiye,” a young boy will remark before his teacher gives him a dirty look. Because the purpose of museums is to bore young schools boys on class trips.

I think the symbolic intent way to demonstrate Turkey’s strong defense despite rather modest defense spending as a percentage of GDP. Turkey gets a lot for its money in terms of its military. I suppose the big shiny chrome revolver can be said to symbolize this. When you think about it, with all of the cloned naval guns and analogous missile systems, this bargain priced copy of a vintage revolver is an appropriate metaphor.
