This has to be one of the worst examples you could have given. It totally proves my point. Despite the CIA ordering the A-12 and the USAF ordering the YF-12 they both share the same parts and technology.
Two different customers shared the same technology at the Skunk Works.
Lockheeds NGAD demonstrator, any SR-72 designs and this secret aircraft is all made at the Skunk Works. So just like the A-12, YF-12 and SR-71 all made at the Skunk Works. It doesn't matter if the funding sources or customers were different.
This is not like two private companies trying to keep their trade secrets. I even doubt the stories where USAF funded research wouldn't be shared with the US Navy and vice versa. Like a greedy kid not wanting to share the lollies they paid for. It is ridiculous suggestion. There is no evidence of data not being shared.
