A frightening development:

I thought arming drones was jumping the gun a bit.

Limpet Drones could "invite" other, faster munitions than the drone itself could carry--by acting like a homing beacon. The drone itself can be made lighter and faster...a flying listening device...a real bug almost.

Rescue drone?

If you are talking shotguns maybe time the SPAS 12 went back into production.

Had one in the early 90's in the US and it was a very impressive piece of kit.
I heard they were kinda sketchy. Mostly the pump/semi switching bit, though it makes good sense for the time, swapping between less-lethal and standard rounds.

Landing drones on stuff to track them down isn't that new, communications is the hard part really.
Friction Shock Absorbers and Reverse Thrust for Fast Multirotor Landing on High-Speed Vehicles
The development that is more interesting is aerial docking so that you can have combustion powered aircraft recharging electric multicopters. That is the part of the prereq for serious sustainable drone swarming.....

add rocket propulsion to quadcopter to enable 405kph top speed interceptor.

I do feel like folding rotors like Bell’s SPRINT with a longer burn duration rocket motor and PGK type control can be interesting for patrol-and-attack while holding high top speed as opposed to reactive cue to target like SAMs.

In utterly predictable news: interceptors for the other side too~

Suchomimus has put out a video concerning about a group of Russian soldiers boasting about their shit-hot new drone-jammer only for it to be destroyed by a Ukrainian FPV drone:D:

Russians film themselves bragging about their new jammer designed to intercept drones which then gets destroyed by an FPV drone.

Not sure if mentioned, but I've glimpsed a report of a 'bolas' shot-gun load intended to snarl incomings: Three linked sorta-thimbles...

Would seem adaptable to 'recoilless' use aboard a hunter drone.

Obvious counter-measure is to fit circumferential rings to props...

Sandboxx has put out a video about this new drone UH-60 variant (QH-60?).

Edit: Lockheed-Martin has put out a short promotional video about it.

From concept to reality in 10 months, Sikorsky, a Lockheed Martin company, has transformed a UH-60L Black Hawk® helicopter into the S-70UAS™ U-Hawk™, a versatile autonomous UAS that has 25% more cargo space than a typical Black Hawk.Forward loading and additional useable cabin space of the U-Hawk aircraft now offers the flexibility to accommodate oversized loads up to the same maximum gross weight.
A tablet gives an operator full command of the U-Hawk aircraft from start-up to shut down. At the touch of a button, the two clamshell doors open and a ramp lowers to allow easy cargo loading or drive-on capability. To prepare for flight, the automated sequence is reversed.
Once loaded, an operator inputs mission goals via the tablet. The MATRIX autonomy system automatically generates a flight plan, relying on cameras, sensors and algorithms to help navigate the U-Hawk aircraft safely to its destination.

It turns out that Sikorsky's U-Hawk proposal would in addition to carrying cargo be also able to carry and launch drones so it could be used as a flying launch platform for drone interceptors.

Seems ridiculous that WWII aircraft and shipboard 20mm gunners were using gyro sights to engage aerial targets, yet 80 years later we're back to iron sights and spray and pray.

Weird thing is there are sights available as well...you'd probably recoup the cost on the 2nd engagement based on a miniguns rate of fire...

While i was exhibiting at a recent defence show , i noticed couple of interesting things , slowly western manufacturers are seeing their drones are crap and Ukrainian design are being made in EU refined and built to higher standard than DIY ukrainan ones . Second small radars are getting cheap to make (not neccesarily sold cheap) ,implication is that small interceptors will have radars vs optics for guidance.

Friends of mine now make radars that are very good at detecting stationary drones , which is a problem for most existing systems.(once drone gets into position for spotting hovering or moving slowly it disapears from the radars) . For now a 30x30cm radar antena detects a mavic style drone at 2km , but next one is 10x10 with same detection range ,antenas are also very cheap to manufacture in like sub 100$.

Note that prices for drone detection radars with any capabilty are still in hundrets of thousands to like a quad radar unit for mounting on a quad is million $ here in Europe ,one of the problems why prices on the market will not fall fast is extreme consolidation of the industry as giants like Rheinmetal are buying up startups preventing any competition on the market
