Likely as it was something that was planned. Looking at every picture from the first has me thinking "what were they smoking?" given people "walking" between the buildings and 'dear-lord-and-lady" what is with those huge windows? Gah!

Exactly - this is certified *vacuumware* as opposed to mere pedestrian vaporware...

Blisters, expansive greenhouse/cockpits, and car styles were very much on people's minds then. They can be forgiven for that--going from biplanes to supersonic jets in living memory. Folks probably thought those two rows of seating were some kind of single piece glass bubbles.

Apollo CSMs would have disappointed the artists. Yes, it what actually worked--but the fins on Dragon...Starship having a Rocketship XM appearance...that helped excite the public perhaps.
