Were there ever ground facilities that used a rail with an aerodynamic travel trailer atop it?

These days I question just about every image outside of memory.

An EMRTC rail picture with an airstream trailer Photoshop-ed atop it would be do-able back when SKY CAPTAIN was released.

The link tells us a lot, except perhaps whether this was an independent project of Celestino Rosatelli, part of his work for Fiat, or a project for the Poletecnico di Torino:

" I’ve had for many years in my library a brochure that was published in 1937 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the aeronautics laboratory of the Politecnico of Turin ... The brochure contains a picture of an airplane that I cannot identify. In the wind tunnel there is mounted a model of a four-engine central hull seaplane, with braced wing and empennage."

"A few years ago, I had the opportunity to visit the Politecnico of Turin’s wind tunnel, ... I remember though that I saw a few cards that referred to a seaplane by Celestino Rosatelli designated I.G.R., an acronym that could mean Idro Grande Rosatelli, Large Rosatelli Seaplane"

For what it's worth, the model in question was tested the hydrodynamic tank of the Direzione Superiore Studi ed Esperienze, in Guidonia-Montecelio, as can be seen in images 6, 14 and 17 found at

Also worth noting that the images in the original link are of two, maybe three, slightly different models. The one in the side view has twin fins and rudders while the bottom view shows three. Then the bottom view shows one bracing strut to the outer nacelle on each side while the reflection in the water of the third image shows two struts each side.

Seems be a little similar to Caproni Reggiane 8000 .

Could be a variant of Caproni Ca.403 or Ca.406,or even developed from them ?.
