Honestly it could probaly be the giant F-35 upgrade lockheed proposed with an 2 second engine just a second engine like 1 XA-100/101. Maybe he confused having 2 engines in operation for the jet (1 for all the olds and B's while the other is for future A and C's)

This statement "...but it’s going to be also with two engines because the F-35 has a single engine. I don’t like single engines.” would seem to preclude that

Sure but maybe its just him going on based on his own misunderstanding. That aside makes we wonder more which role its supposed to fill?
- NGAD / F-22 Super does Air dominance
- F-35 and B-21 do the prime strike rol
Because the cost of making F-35 and twin engine fighter is quite large. Enough to rival the development of a new fighter probaly.

I think unlike many here I don't actually mind Trump himself, what I do find obnoxious however is people like him or people in similar positions to him voicing their opinions and desires on military matters. He, and almost all statesmen, have zero clue about anything related to military matter, like literally zero clue. We talk about people who have to get briefed regularly in length about stuff by people who know about said stuff.

And a twin engine F-35 is one such instance where not knowing shit becomes glaringly obvious. The possibility of that happening (or making sense) has passed a very, very long time ago.

On a slightly related note however "F-22 Super Raptor" has the right ring to it. So while a Super Raptor and Super Lightning aren't inherently bad, the approach he suggested just highlights a glaring lack of understanding.

Also almost every stealth aircraft looks good

Did it really? F-35 isn't exactly old.

Turning it into a twin engine jet would require massive changes. Such fundamentals like engine configuration occurre very early into an aircrafts development. I wouldn't be surprised if the fact that the JSF will be single engine would have been decided upon well before I was born lol.

If it's a thing, it's certainly a new jet (maybe with high commonality factor), but the idea is mildly speaking not unique.

Alex Hollings from Sandboxx was quick off the mark putting out a video concerning Trump's witless pronouncement concerning a twin-engined F-35 (Not ever going to happen without the US DoD spending an obscene amount of money redesigning the F-35 for a twin-engine configuration):

The F-47 may not be the only new stealth fighter the US Air Force has in the works, because earlier today, President Donald Trump pitched the development of a new “super” upgrade for the F-22 Raptor, and even crazier, a new twin-engine variant of the F-35 that he’s dubbed the F-55.

Let's speculate on the comments of someone who:
1. does not understand the subject matter which they are speaking about
2. frequently makes outlandish or otherwise mysterious claims

Now, if James Taiclet or Troy Meink said these things, I would understand this. But this guy? Come on.

As for Sandboxx, they can continue to kick rocks. I do find their application of AI to generate artwork quite ingenious. Maybe they'll stop stealing people's artwork now.

Explain to us how it is bullshit, please.

No, I’m not, because it takes 10 times as much Tim to disprove shit as it takes to assert bullshit that is not true. If you haven’t learned that sandbox is mediocre yet, you never will, and that’s not a thing I am spending time correcting.

ETA: this forum is so much better than most anything else you could find online. I am a basic bitch learning things from real people here. If you want to learn anything aircraft, just read carefully here and ignore bullshit like sandbox. I’m not knowledgeable, but I’m just knowledgeable enough to know when I’m stupid and should pay attention to the adults in the room.

That is an unhelpful non-responsive answer.

Maybe we should have a thread "aerospace bullshit sites and channels " somewhere ? with a list of the "usual suspects" like Bulgarianmilitary, National Interest... that way we could point members toward that list.
