The UK concept is really aggressive with 350kg payload and an intercontinental range when air launched...
 
Its pretty notional

Its also a much bigger concept than AGM-183 because of a lack of UK B-52s, and limiting size/mass on combat air platforms
 
Such things seem more aspirational that practical I think. For the UK I would imagine whatever comes out of all the SciFIRE/HALO research would be applicable to their tactical aircrraft, and presumably as part of the AUKUS arrangement (and the special relationship before it) such tactical fighter compatible hypersonics would be made available to them.

Interesting development Flyaway, the UK designing and building our own Hypersonic cruise missile by 2030, so that will be the end of the UK/France Perseus missile that was suposed to replace the SCALP-EG/Storm Shadow by the same timeframe.

Its totally seperate.

FCASW will be in test in a couple of years. We know the UK will order the long range stealthy version. It remains to be seen if we also order the supersonic, medium range m.

France is doing its own thing for hypersonic as well, primarily to replace the ASMP.

Perseus was only ever an MBDA concept, long superceded by FCASW.
 
Perseus has been dead for a while. The requirement evolved into two separate non-hypersonic missiles under the Future Cruise/Anti-Ship Weapon programme. FC is effectively Storm Shadow II, a subsonic LO land attack missile, while ASW is a supersonic ship-killer. The rumours were while both parties are interested in ASW, the UK really wanted to retain the FC capability as well, hence the split.

It seems likely any new hypersonic missile will be a separate development.
 
It is a pity that Perseus is dead and that the UK and France could not agree to the specifications of the missile, I liked the look of Perseus as well.
 
RCM2 according to the MBDA website Forest Green. It is yet another missile on the Storm Shadow design but has 500+ km range and high subsonic speed.

Thanks Broken, I suppose that it is easy to get confused with the two designs being so similar. I wonder why did they design the two missiles to be so similar as it makes identifying them so much harder.
 
But I heard that Germany hopes to purchase missile boosters from France
