Hi,

the Fiat G.91Y/T was two seat version of G.91Y for basic/advanced trainer
and the G.91Y/S project to meet Swiss Specifications for ground attack
aircraft.

I read on all-aero that the G.91Y/S featured a Swedish-designed laser aiming system.

I have searched around on the internet for a few hrs but i have not been able to find anything more about it so far. I have searched using both Swedish and Italian terms as well without any luck. I do not even know what type of system it is. Is it just a basic laser-rangefinder or is it a complete ballistic computer? I have checked around what Swedish companies delved around with aircraft laser systems at the time (Philips Teleindustri AB, Arenco Electronics AB, SAAB and Bofors etc but so far nothing related to aircraft laser systems around the Y/S period (1970).

I found this in Jane's all the worlds aircraft 1973-1974.

Although for the Saab 105G, the BT9 dive bombing sight/computer originally entered Swedish air force service in 1944. I i bet the Y/S had a BT9 ballistic computer of some kind.

The Swiss had the BT 9H on their Hawker Hunters as part of the competition the Y/S was part of.

Apparently the Y/S testpilot is active on Facebook. According to him the Y/S was fitted with a Saab BT9RH laser ballistic computer. The H most likely stands for Helvetia, the roman name for Switzerland.
