This similar themed setup on an 105mm M101 for trials was intended for service on the XM-204 lightweight low pressure howitzer, another Vietnam centric design that never saw service, despite attempts to use to make the Chinook into a tank killer.
Not a coincidence. The vehicle in the German photo appears to use a system very similiar to the Rollagon vehicles used for arctic and swamp transportation by the oil industry. Crowley Maritime has a small fleet of them operating in the Northslope oilfields of alaska..Michel Van said:thanks for the reply
