How does the plane being electric allow passengers to skip security screening?

Taser built into every seat. Passengers are strapped in upon boarding and electrodes attached to their foreheads and nads. If they act up, they get the juice.

FOR YOUR CONVENIENCE.

Because it can't get off the bloody runway in the first place.

Fortunately, the company's actual site doesn't talk about skipping security. They're pushing this for air taxi service, probably with hand-luggage only. (For that Tahoe trip, plan to rent your skis.)

The bottom aircraft vaguely reminds me of the Learavia Learfan 2100 from the '80s. That wasn't electric, but it would be interesting to me to see that concept revisited.

As I understood Horizon X is the internal Boeing Incubator/Accelerator that funds Zunum. So the subject should be Zunum if you want to focus on the airplane.

That's correct, That's Zunum.

My .02: I can't see how this thing makes sense in terms of operating costs.
The gas turbine engine is about 30% thermally efficient while an electric motor is 95%.
OTOH Jet-A has 50 times the energetic content than a LiPo battery...
The all electric or even hybrid-electric aircraft has a long way to go in applications such as this (relatively high speed, long range, large payloads) where you need lots of energy. For short range and small payloads, this is barely beginning to be possible.

Batteries are getting there though. I have a rechargeable battery lawn-mower. Does it compare to a big riding mower designed to mow acres? Nope. But it beats the hell out of a gas mower for the average yard. Blew my mind when I discovered they were a thing.

It was one of the theories yes
