"Grumman" has only one "n"!

I have a few boat-related designations from Grumman but don't know exactly where they fit.

G-17: canoe
28 Funship: boat (1990)
G-129 Solo: canoe
Design M163: 2400 Metric Ton Air Capable Hydrofoil Ship (1978)
G-1540csp: canoe/kayak
G-2000: Dynamically Tuned Gyro (DTG)

Here's a photo at the San Diego Air & Space Museum's (SDASM) Flickr Photostream of Leroy Grumman in a Grumman Canoe.

They made mail trucks and (with notorious lack of success) buses.

Grumman boats and canoes are still in production....

Aluminum canoes have their uses. Cheaper than Kevlar, immune to the environment, damage-tolerant and reasonably light.
