What I have read about the APQ-7 Eagle phased-array radar was that it delivered nearly photographic images of airbases etc. Reading the pavement contrast with the vegetation. My Alt-TBO had the B-29 Silverbird pairs attack at night, the path-finder / camera aircraft dropping a really big parachute flare to supplement Radar targeting.
So I think you might be able to get away with a modified Silverplate B-29B that also had the APQ-7A installed. The -A variant of the radar put the display more or less into the Norden bombsight, so the bombardier could skip fine tuning the Norden.
