There's little doubt that the next generation of US-built unoccupied combat aircraft will include long range strike bombers and air superiority fighters. -SP
 
As a helper function (main reliance is still on man), I am OK with this.

But if the main reliance is going to be on machines, this really bothers me.

A former F-16 pilot friend of mine likes to tell me that the last US fighter pilot
has already been borne. And it's sad. I hope he's wrong.
 
I think air superiority will be the last function to go "unmanned" IMHO potentially due to IFF criteria.
 
There will always be a role for manned aircraft.

Just as there was a need for the US Spacial Forces to get some training in riding horses during the early stages in Afghanistan.
