I meant the Martin escort fighter version of the B-10:)

Here it's with drawing;

J.Strickler was according to the 'Cobra' list project engineer
for the Bell model 9 and 10a & 10b.
He seems not the man with the model on the photo...

I still think that the caption in Bill Norton's book showing the
so called model 17 is not correct. The drawing fits much more to
the description (see Cobra book) for the model 10.

Hello, my dad was Jack Strickler! I have LOTS of photos of him back in the day. I am compiling some family history and stumbled across this website, so I thought I would just say hello! In that photo above, he is behind Larry Bell on the left of this snippet first full face.

Welcome aboard Linda,

and that's meaning it's maybe a Bell design ?.

The A.C.M.E. photo credit refers to ACME, a private company that specialized in this type of photography. Image rights - the entire library - were sold, and later resold. The present exclusive distributor of these photos is Getty Images.

I believe they moved into homebuilt aerospace. It didn't go well.

Yes, well. Posting fiction is posting fiction.

Is that making or doing a model? I always get the context mixed up.

On a tangent:

ORIGINAL CAPTION:
In the back of the display case at the Museum of the United States Air Force in Dayton, OH is an Oldsmobile M2 aircraft cannon.
This one of 77,010 the division built in World War Two. Author's photo added 4-29-2017.

Bell Model 9 still seems a possible candidate to me.
Just to clarify things, it couldn't be the Model 17, which I'm showing in the attachments.

Awesome, Linda, thanks! Do you perchance know who the guy with the face only half-showing is?
He looks very much to me like the guy everyone's been trying to identify since the start of this topic...
