In İğneada, north-western Turkey, Turkey is building a facility targeting the launch of small satellites (~100 kg) into low Earth orbit (~300 km), with future ambitions including larger payloads (~1.5 t) to higher orbits (~700 km)

Allows for roughly 1,000km (straight-line) of open water in the black sea with minimal land coverage, in-case of stage splashdowns and or failed launches;
