First Turkish cruise missile unveiled last week in Airshow in Izmir.

Interesting... this is what happens if you merge KEPD350 and SLAM-ER into one another ;) Seems like a close counterpart to the cancelled KEPD150, sitting neatly between the NSM and the full-size KEPD350. Any info on what engine it uses, presumably a Microturbo unit or an indigenous solution?
 
It has microturbo engine; but there exist turbojet underdevelopment in TEI. According to relased news it has 3 different version. Possibly different guidance and warheads for different purposes.


In the end it is very flexible weapon system.
 
I'm not one to just generally point at something and say: "Oh look, it's a copy of XXXX."

But this missile looks very, very similar to South Africa's TORGOS, bar perhaps the fore wing difference and a reduction in size/range. Is there a link?
 
Recent news from Turkish media states that SOM reached over 300km range and it will fly up to 500km this year. Also development of 1500km range cruise missile to be finished in 2012
