There has been a lot of talk of using quadcopters for ISR, but the debate was always about them getting shot down.
Not any more. Good luck shooting this one down. BTW, this is real time footage, and not a special effect.

Something this wicked has to have tactical uses, even if its just to scare our enemies with its awesome sound.

Looks like they got this in the hands of one of those professional R/C helicopter flyers. If you like these kinds of quadrotors (vs the plodding camera "drones") you ought to check out quadrotor racing. Bunch of videos on youtube. It's like Pod-racing dang near. ;D

The instant one of these 'racing' drones going into a crowd of spectators and draws blood, we (the more stable type) r/c model airplane drivers can just pack up and call it quite's as homeland Security takes the situation in hand as only a bloated, disconnected, unsympathetic, knee-jerk reacting, politically attuned, dysfunctional Government agency can.

If you can't build it, you should not drive it!

Monster trucks, car races, errant baseballs, etc. have injured many and they're all still going strong.

Impressive but essentially irrelevant to the use of such things in a military role.

Darn! There goes my evening! Thanks for that heads-up ;)

It is exactly suited to a military role. Think surgical strike INSIDE of a structure. This thing would be incredibly hard to stop.

With the sensors, computers and explosive payload required to weaponise it and operate it inside a building you'd need it to be larger or have a flight time of ~30 seconds - the one in the video can only fly for about 2 minutes.

How are you going to get it INSIDE the structure or control it once it's there?

You think we haven't done this before?

I hope you don't think those actually represent realistic wartime scenarios. A Roomba can bump its way around a front room but it ain't no Screamer invading an enemy bunker.

Forget inside a building.
Imagine a version configured for anti-helicopter operations.
2 minute flight time, fitted with a self-forging charge.
Basically a smart grenade, that can flip out of its casing, and intercept a approaching gunship.
Cheap, expendable, and extremely effective.

Why not just use shoulder launched SAM, or other shoulder launched missile (e.g. ATGW, RPG), or just a heavy machine gun...all a lot faster and more effective!

Maneuverability is the biggest thing I can see. No missile is going to change direction like THAT. Also no visible backblast or muzzle flashes or tracers. Hell, you get the battery endurance up or provide a base station to return to for charging, and you can have these airborne and waiting for a target to engage.
