Here is "Heaven and Hell" by the late Greek composer Tangelos that was used as the theme music for the opening and closing credits for the groundbreaking science TV series Cosmos created, written, narrated and hosted by the late, great Carl Sagan (I wish I'd got the chance to meet him before his untimely death):

Heaven and Hell by Vangelis begins each of the 13 original Cosmos episodes.

First broadcast in 1980, this is the introduction to the first episode of the thirteen-part TV series: Cosmos: A Personal Voyage. Written and presented by Carl Sagan, it is, in my humble opinion, the most magical 5 minute introduction ever to grace the screen.

This was an amazing show and it blew me away when I first saw it in 1980/81 as an eight year old boy.

Help is on the way in recreating instruments

Perhaps they can look at the Novachord.

History

From Wiki:
Eric Siday and Raymond Scott used electronic music to convey a modern, "space-age" feel for products like cars (Volkswagen), cleaners, and toys, with sounds ranging from tape-manipulated effects to Moog synthesizer jingles.

The reason Lostwave is interesting is the way in which information can fall through the cracks, in this case it's known the song was written by songwriter Walter 'Bunny' Sigler, recorded to tape and sent directly to singer Lou Rawls. Two of the three songs on the tape ended up on Rawls's 1987 album 'Family Reunion' with different musical arrangements than the one featured on this tape. The lostwave song is the third song that didn't make the cut, and while as noted above where it came from and who it was intended for is known, who actually performed it on the tape has been lost to time.

If anyone's wondering about the cameo by comedian Rodney Dangerfield in the preceding video, it's that the act of writing the title track to the movie 'Easy Money' which starred Dangerfield inspired Billy Joel to create the concept album 'An Innocent Man' built around tracks highlighting the music that had influenced Billy Joel when he was growing up. Dangerfield's appearance in the music video for 'Tell Her About It' was the payment for allowing 'Easy Money' to appear in 'An Innocent Man'.
