Some sad news, Harland and Wolff Heavy Industries has entered administration and its 130 workers given redundancy notices.
This could be the end of Edward Harland and Gustav Wolff's venture launched in 1861 (its worth noting Harland had brought the Hickson shipyard from his boss back in 1858).

On top of Bombardier selling off the former Shorts works (itself created in partnership with H&W as Shorts-Harland), Belfast's industrial sector is certainly taking some big knocks.
