I mean, the clipped wing AMRAAMs went from -A or -B to -C, so probably.

Plus the AIM-9X has been in service since 2003(!).

I'd like to hit up the Air Force Armament Museum next year, they might have an archive. Naval Aviation Museum does, I plan on checking that out as well.

I'm seriously considering an extended road trip early next year. Naval Aviation, Air Force Armament, and Army Aviation Museums are all an hour or two from each other, so once I'm there I can see all three

Have you been able to make your road trips to these archives, Magi?

I'm aware aware of the museum unfortunately it's in the USA and I live in New Zealand so it's extremely unlikely I'd get to visit it.

Great news, I'm lining up another trip out there sometime this year. Have great relation with the curators there and can get dedicated day to do photography and digitization work with no public access. If anyone has a proper 3D scanner and would like to join on an exploitation run of the artifacts there, please reach out.

I hope you bring back lots of photographs to post here and maybe some copies of technical documents* to do with the AIM-9 and AIM-7 too.

*Documents dealing with the AIM-9C seeker details would be nice along with the service manual for the AIM-9D seeker electronics.
