Inspired by the Eurotrainer-thread where the surviving E650 mockup at Villingen-Schwenningen is stored, it might be a good idea to list known surviving mockups and large models of unflown projects. Over the years, there have been scores of mockups built of aircraft which didn't even reach the prototype stage, but there seem to be very few which survive the cancellation of a project. Often, a display at some trade airshow like Le Bourget is the first and last we get to see...

All additions are more than welcome, obviously.

E650 Eurotrainer - mockup - stored at the Schwenningen museum (D) http://www.flugplatz-schwenningen.de/mu_exponate.html
Lampyridae - 3/4 scale 'flying' model - on display at the Gerhard Neumann-museum in Niederallteich (D)http://www.f-104.de/english/exponates_english.html
LCA / Tejas - mockup - on display at the HAL museum (at Nasik?) (IN) http://www.warbirdsofindia.com/wbblrhal07.html
ALH Dhruv - mockup - on display at the same museum, both kudos to Jagan of course http://www.warbirdsofindia.com/wbblrhal07.html
CAC CA-31 - mockup, Australian jet trainer, lost competition to MB326 for RAAF service, looks a bit like a shrunken Mirage IIIB - on display at Moorrabin Air Museum (AUS) http://www.aarg.com.au/CA31.htm
XCH-62 - Unfinished prototype, very heavy-lift helo - Destroyed at USArmy Aviation Museum at Ft. Rucker (AL, USA) in December 2005. http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/systems/aircraft/h-62.htm
Boeing SST - mockup - Preserved, but not intact, at the Hiller Aviation Museum in San Carlos (CA-USA). http://www.hiller.org/sst.shtml
Westland WG33 - mockup, odd-looking two-person counterrotating helo - under restoration, Helicopter Museum, Weston-Super-Mare (UK) http://www.helicoptermuseum.co.uk/westland.htm

Wow, that Boeing SST mockup has really traveled over the years. 34 years ago it was in a small museum in Kissimmee, FL, just southeast of Orlando, FL along the Florida Turnpike, along with one of P&W's losing engines from the competition.

For the australian CAC CA-31, there is a model here :

A full size Avro CF-105 Arrow mockup exists (reproduction)

the Bae 'EAP.2/Replica' last i heard was stored at Warton

cheers Joe

Hmm....it seems a pity that "Replica" can't be put on public display. I would doubt that there are any genuine security issues associated with the mockup in question, although the political and commercial implications might be troubling to the British taxpayers.

Isn't it amazing that an actual X-35 demonstrator can be displayed at the Smithsonian, but a plywood mock-up must be kept under wraps in the UK.

During the mid-90's it was rusting in a scrap metal yard on Merritt Island next to a space shuttle booster and an atlas rocket
