Since Russia is making AL-51F as their replacement to the AL-31F will there be any plans to have a successor to the RD-33 engine used by the MiG-29 or we are stuck with the RD-33MK?

Yeah, sadly RD-33 family seems to be stuck atm. Unless -somehow- Russia interested in some sort of "medium weight fighter" again and wants engine in class of F414.

It would be relatively easy to scale the AL-51F if needed to. The AL-31F fan was scaled from the RD-33 fan originally after issues with the original Lyulka design.

I didn't knew that
How much thrust do you think a scaled down AL-51F based off of the RD-33 would make going by what we know of so far with AL-51F?

The RD-43M engine project. The thrust of the AL-31F is in dimensions and weight like that of the RD-33

There were several modifications of the improved RD-33.
- RD-43
- VK-10M
- RD-33MKM
- RD-33MK-35
It is likely that some of the names are used for the same project.
The need for a new engine based on the RD-33 was repeatedly spoken about by the former director of the ODK Klimov A. Vatagin. He mentioned a maximum thrust of 11 tons.
Everything above refers to the period 5-15 years ago.

Today the situation is different. The successor to the RD-33 is being developed using the AL-41F1S gas generator and some AL-51 technology. Basically it will be a smaller version of the Izdeliye 177S.
It can be used, for example, in new versions of the MiG-35 (unless it's a dead project), JF-17, in the Indian projects Tejas Mk.2, AMCA, TEDBF or in the Russian PMKI (the implementation of which is unlikely and depends on the construction of new aircraft carriers).
