I have this one on the bookshelf as well- there's more than enough designs in this book that could keep me occupied for years drawing profiles! Particularly fascinating were the early Airbus concepts when the UK was still a full partner in the consortium. The various supersonic designs as well are fascinating, but my favorite section is the one on VSTOL airliners.

Got my copy today (last one in stock at Amazon.co.uk at the time of ordering apparently ;D)

Some very interesting designs, damm shame they stayed on the drawing board.

I like this book really too.
Tony Buttler told me that Richard Payne had to restrict the amount of information at publisher's instigation. What a pity :'( .

Richard (Payne), are you here to tell us something on a second volume ;) (or a long row/series of articles in AE)? (This is just speculation, folks.)

Will we see a book on British helicopter projects, trainers, transports, ..., one day?

We have already seen that book, and it was called "Project Cancelled."

It is unfortunate that books on unbuilt aviation projects have become so specific in content.

Dear All

Thank you very much for you kind words on my book Stuck on the Drawing Board.

I have always had a fascination with unbuilt projects and also with British Industry and researching this was a sheer delight.

I am so glad that people find it of interest

Many thanks

Richard Payne

Well, A BIG WELCOME HERE !!!!!!! I cannot speak for all of the members here, but I suspect that a score of them would be glad to put some money to have you assemble a Volume II in PDF format of all the drawings and projects not included in the printed one. Please give this a thought !

Thanks for your wonderful work

Richard, thanks a lot for your book, but now we are very curious to see more. Please help our dreams come true ;) .
