Here's a patent worth looking at.
Inventors are numerous. The list starts with Vladimir Ivanovich Barkovskyi, known to be director of the Mikoyan Design Bureau (first deputy general), then followed by Valery Bezverknyi (berkut VP, and key PAK-Fa player), etc. While this patent was filed in 2006, it is not officially associated to Mikoyan (applicants are inventors, and not a company) - sign that there's something to dig here. Patent initially filed in Russia followed by worldwide protection.
