Boys and their toys...Yep, very frustrating. Hopefully no engine damage or issues requiring replacement and they can try again tomorrow.

Certainly a lot faster than V2 was but perhaps a (very) small portion of that is also reduced payload. Starship is meant to hold 60 plus V3 sats and they only had ~20 on board for Flight 13.I wonder how fast it was going by the time it cleared the tower. It appeared to be moving pretty quick.
While there are error bars, roughly half a G seems in the ballpark.I wonder how fast it was going by the time it cleared the tower. It appeared to be moving pretty quick.
LMAO Ayup, rockets do that!It looks like a penis.
You got something you want to tell us?It looks like a penis.
That Musk has the biggest ?You got something you want to tell us?
It looks like a penis.
It sure does, if only as a cautionary warning example. RLV water splashdown landings are a prime example of lazy engineering (non)optimization. But please, if anyone disagrees, by all means, enlighten us why the next Boeing 797 airliner model should revert to flying boat water landings..."It belongs in the Smithsonian !"
It's a whole lot of compensation. That Musk has the biggest ?
...I mean in Rocket size !
That building is huge Michel Van, a modern day NASA VAB.
I don't understand why that ship is not already on zone. After powdering their latest tech across an entire region without much regrets, they still fail on economic intelligence gathering (at best) on a big way.
Can we get that in English for those of us in the cheap seats?I don't understand why that ship is not already on zone. After powdering their latest tech across an entire region without much regrets, they still fail on economic intelligence gathering (at best) on a big way.
Amazing.
it is only 2/3's the height of the VAB.That building is huge Michel Van, a modern day NASA VAB.
And the doors are redneck as ever compared to VABs.it is only 2/3's the height of the VAB.
Jul 31, 2026 What's Going on With Shipping - Maritime Industry Today
In this episode of What's Going on with Shipping, we dive into the intersection of maritime salvage and space exploration as SpaceX's Starship Flight 13 sits adrift in the Indian Ocean. Following a successful splashdown, the challenge now shifts to how—and if—this massive craft can be brought back to shore.

Towing vs. Heavy Lift: Exploring why traditional recovery methods like cranes or semi-submersibles are near-impossible in open ocean swells.

Well deck dimensions 266-by-50-foot (81 by 15.2 m) by 28-foot (8.5 m) high
The well deck water depth can get to about 8 feet and the stern can be lowered up to 10ft or so. Starship is riding pretty high so it might wind up being the height as the limiting factor, if the flaps are retracted.Just wanted to ask, could an USN amphibious ship recover Starship ?
Two tug arrive at StarSHIP 40, it will take a month to pull StarSHIP 40 to Australia.
Billions of blistering barnacles in a thundering typhoon !!
SpaceX will drastically pick up the pace of Starship flights, CEO Elon Musk says, as the company prepares to potentially attempt to catch the vehicle’s upper stage on the coming mission.
My question is: did they rig a pump in Starship? As intact as it was, I would be a little shocked if it does a month at sea without flooding and sinking.update
StarSHIP 40 still swimming
