Quite some time ago I scanned the attached article from the French magazine l'Aeronautique (not sure which volume/number) on a bizarre helicopter project by Douglas Shaw dating from 1920. The article references another article from a magazine called Aeronautics (December 2, 1920 issue) which may have more information on the design; I searched a couple patent databases and came up with nothing. If someone has access to the Aeronautics article or has more information on this contraption, I'd love to see it!
