Saudi Arabia has said that a ballistic missile that was launched from Yemen at Riyadh on 4 November had a range of more than 900 km and was made in Iran, describing that attack as an “act of war”.

The Yemeni rebels claimed they hit Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport to the north of Riyadh with a Burkan-2H ballistic missile and released a video that purportedly showed the missile being launched at night.

The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported that air defences had intercepted the missile before it hit the airport and its remnants landed in an uninhabited area north of the capital.

“This is the first time a Houthi missile has come this close to a heavily populated area and it appears to be the farthest such a missile has reached inside Saudi Arabia,” it said, using the popular name for Yemen’s pro-Iranian Ansar Allah group that has allied itself with former president Ali Abdullah Saleh to fight Saudi Arabia and its allies.

The SPA reported the Saudi-led coalition as saying on 6 November that the missile had a range of 900 km and that a “thorough examination of the debris” had confirmed “the role of Iran’s regime in manufacturing” this and another missile that landed in the kingdom on 22 July.

And now Iran is claiming (and that is confirmed) that they can be fired from... inside Irak!

From Reuters:

According to three Iranian officials, two Iraqi intelligence sources and two Western intelligence sources, Iran has transferred short-range ballistic missiles to allies in Iraq over the last few months. Five of the officials said it was helping those groups to start making their own.
“The logic was to have a backup plan if Iran was attacked,” one senior Iranian official told Reuters. “The number of missiles is not high, just a couple of dozen, but it can be increased if necessary.”
[...]The Western source said the number of missiles was in the 10s and that the transfers were designed to send a warning to the United States and Israel, especially after air raids on Iranian troops in Syria. The United States has a significant military presence in Iraq.
“It seems Iran has been turning Iraq into its forward missile base,” the Western source said.

Great find TomcatVIP.

The Iranians should be quietly told if they don't remove those missiles they will be "disappeared."

UN human rights experts believe war crimes may have been committed by all parties to the conflict in Yemen.

In their first such report, they allege Yemeni government forces, the Saudi-led coalition backing them, and the rebel Houthi movement have made little effort to minimise civilian casualties.

They point to attacks on residential areas in which thousands have died.

The warring parties are also accused of arbitrary detentions, torture, enforced disappearances and recruiting children.

The experts will present their report to the UN Human Rights Council next month.

The only side picked is no TBMs threatening US troops in the region.

Very interesting given the Saudi-Turkish tensions in places like Libya. Also, Greece can probably use the financial support. Does anyone think they aren't getting paid at least 100% for their manpower and material costs on a deployment like this?
