I’m looking forward to seeing how this gets utilized.
Capable of carrying 100+ munitions with a 500mile range.
They brag about from design to sea trials in 12 months…that’s cool but considering it’s likely borrowing heavily from high speed offshore supply vessels, not that impressive.

I dont think I found a single reputable source for this thing carrying 100+ missiles on board. It was just on a single highly suspect article from NextBigFuture with no source and no explanation as to how that number came to be. What is certain though is Castelion is working to integrate blackbeard missiles unto the ship.

Can you cram 100+ missiles into 2 40ft iso containers? No idea if you can even do that for just transporting the let alone launching that many.

Anduril is talking about putting 16 Surface-Launched Barracuda 500Ms in a 20-foot ISO container. The article above talks about the Marauder carrying eight such containers. That's 128 missiles with a nominal range of 500 nm. So, the math checks out at a very simple level.

Anduril claims to fit 16 Baracuda 500M in a 20’ TEU. So 8 x 16 on Marauder, although that load seems rather unrealistic as it would leave no room for other mission equipment.

I would however assume that range of Baracuda takes a big hit due to surface launch. I would think ~300 mi / 500km.


The Catelion Blackbeard option seems a lot more interesting to me, though presumably a lot fewer would be carried per container.
