Rutan Boomerang proof concept

Hi,

The Rutan company designed the Boomerang,it was HALO aircraft (high altitude low-
operation), the first prototype to proof the concept was a twin boom asymmetric
aircraft,powered by two turboprops.

One off prototypes are a slightly grey area, but anything *produced* should definitely be discussed in the General Aerospace Discussion section. The primary focus of the Unbuilt Aircraft forums should be on *unbuilt*.
 
The Booomerang wasn't a HALO. It was a GA-class aircraft roughly in the same class as high end piston twins.

I believe the engines were piston as well, not turboprops.
 
Northrop Grumman is a major shareholder on Scaled Composites (Rutan's company), and owns the Proteus, which is uses as a surrogate, manned testebed for high-altitude, long-endurance UAV technology. Interestingly Scaled seems act like a "Skunk Works" for Northrop, as evidenced by these two designs:
