Roger Adam Aircraft Projects ?

Hi,

we know Roger Adam,he was a French designer,and after WWII,he built
RA-14,RA-15 and RA-17,and I discovered this RA-20 Randonneur,but
remained RA-16,RA-18 & RA-19 a mysteries ?.

From Aviation Magazine 1963,

RA-16 was a three seat Project version of RA-14

and as in article,I suggest that;

RA-18 was a four seat Project version of RA-14

RA-19 was all metal Project version of RA-14

The 4-seater and metal construction projects are very intriguing indeed. No real evidence, of course, but they may well be our 'missing' RA 18 and RA 19 designations!

About the RA 16, was it being a projected RA 14 derivative also your supposition? Makes sense but I've fudged and listed it as "(RA 14/RA 15 derivative?)". However, if you have a source, that can be easily corrected.

Thanks hesham ... obviously a power light aircraft. Looks like it might have had an Anzani Y-3 fan engine?

If I may, one of the first, if not the first Canadian aircraft manufacturer specializing in the design and production of airplanes and of airplane kits for homebuilders was located in Montréal, Québec. Maranda Aircraft, a company founded in the 1950s by Bernard C. “Bernie” Maranda, acquired the (worldwide?) production rights for the Adam RA-14 Loisir and RA-17. The small company marketed them under new names, Loisir BM14 and BM3. A Super Loisir BM1 made its appearance in 1961. About thirty of these aircraft flew over the years. Maranda Aircraft subsequently acquired the production rights for a few additional aircraft. Around 1959-60, it signed an agreement with Falconar Aircraft Maintenance of Edmonton, Alberta, to allow the latter to manufacture the Loisir and Super Loisir in kits.

In JAWA 1963-64 p.23 Maranda BM5 Falcon aircraft was mentioned: "cantilever two-place monoplane under development".

RA-9 was a single seat high-wing high-performance glider project
RA-11 was a single seat light aircraft project,powered by one engine,
and had a round wing
