Given the historic dimensions of the D class would it be possible to have three guns forward as in the Didos and three aft in a similar arrangement or would you need a larger hull?

Diomede had a weatherproof gunhouse in A position which from what I have read was successful,

Could the gunhouse have been introduced earlier and could a similar gunhouse have been used on the 4" of the earlier Arethusa's etc?

I think the problem would be topweight. Too much of it too high above the waterline and the ship is more likely to capsize.
