Made me dream, leap in and out of my own imagination. Thrilled, amazed and entertained the young buck I once was.
Thank you, Mr. Clancy.

Had the greatest pleasure of meeting him many years ago whilst he was touring on a book promotion. A very friendly approachable man with a very wry sense of humour. A sad day for literature.

RIP Sir, Your life was as well lived and written as one of your greatest works.

a Sad news
so many good people died this year and not the end if it :'(

I learned English reading Red Storm Rising as a wee lad!

Fair winds and following seas Tom; you'll be greatly missed. You're books were and still are a great source of inspiration to me and inspired me to write my own as well. My copy of Red Storm is worn out I've read it some many times.

Wish I could have met you.

An insurance agent who drew up Harpoon scenarios and then documented them as the basis for a book became a bestselling author. His writing style was terrible, but his books did entertain. Will we continue to see the Tom Clancy brand on books and games after his death?

I never read fiction but I was a recent college graduate, unemployed walking through a drug store and saw Hunt for Red October and was hooked on military techno-thrillers ever since.

Thank you Mr. Clancy Godspeed sir!

Real shame to hear of his passing. Rainbow Six is one of my favourite books.
Will dig out HFRO and watch it again.

My favorite book was Clear and Present Danger. I thought the subtle attack on the Poindexter-North cabal was very well done.

RIP Tom Clancy. :'(

Starting as a teenager I have read nearly all your Jack Ryan novels.
Hunt for Red October? Many times, and I always find something new. :(

Unfortunately I will not see the next Jack Ryan movie in the cinemas this fall. The trailer and the main actor don't meet my expectations. :(

My favourite of his was "Without Remorse":

I would love to see it turned into a movie.
