Sadly Billie Oddie, comedian, television presenter, conservationist and actor, has died a day ago on July 25, 2026. Bill Oddie is probably remembered for his part of the three comedians who appeared in the comedy series The Goodies, a show I first watched as a boy starting in 1979 till its end in 1982. Sadly Bill is the second one of the Goodies comedians to die with the first being Tim Brooke-Taylor who died from COVID-19 aged 79 (About two months shy of his 80th birthday) which leaves Graeme Garden as the remaining Goodie.

He was to me, as with Michael Bentine, hiding something with the laughter. Always there with a joke when appearing, a smile but, behind the smile always assessing to see what those around him needed from him.
A thoroughly decent man and inspiration in spades. Bill, you done good and it is a privilege to share your laughter.

Best known for being one of the original presenters of the BBCs SpringWatch program as well as the Goodies, he will be very sadly missed.
