RAN 50's and 60's missile conversions

Australian yards built Tribal Class destroyers, River and Bay Class frigates during the war, followed by Battles and Daring, as well as Type 12 frigates, as well as upgrades for the earlier rivers, Bays and Tribals, plus the Type 15 conversions for the Q Class. Originally, there were to have been four Darings and twelve Type 12s, this was cut back significantly to three Darings and two batches of two Type 12s.
AFIAK the original plan was for 6 Type 12s not 12 which was part of a plan for a fleet of 116 warships & auxiliaries. Were Nos. 7 to 12 replacements for older ships like the 12 Loch/Bay class or the Q class destroyers that were converted to Type 15 frigates?

I believe the 2nd batch of batch was to replace the ww2 river/bay class frigates

Would a hybrid of the second and third drawings be feasible? That is the second drawing with a SPS-37 or SPS-48 instead of the Type 965 with the Tatar launcher and one or two SPG-51 radars aft. The extra hull volume created by the flush deck may have the space for the associated electronics. If there is any space and margin left after that could an Ikara take the place of the Limbo?

Hm, what about some better idea? To replace "Hobart" with a newer, more capable cruiser - for example, the HMS "Swiftsure", stuck in repair in late 1950s - which could be converted in longer-serving missile cruiser with Mk-10 Terrier GMLS. The Mk-10 would be capable of longer service, since its compatible with newer radar-homing RIM-2 Terrier missiles, as well as with RIM-67 Standard-ER missiles. And with hull modifications barely complete by 1959, the new cruiser could be expected to serve well into 1980s.
I’m not sure the Swiftsure option would be viable. Certainly by 1960 her new superstructures were in place….
If they're going to import a converted WWII gun-cruiser instead of converting Hobart, why not a Cleveland class converted to fire Terrier missiles? That is apart from the purchase and operating costs, much of which would be in US Dollars, and recruiting enough sailors to person her.

However, many of those reasons also apply to rebuilding Hobart and rebuilding Swiftsure. On the other hand it would be a much more heavily armed ship. Furthermore, as more than a few Clevelands were in reserve in the second half of the 1950s and the USN struck many of them 1959-61, I'm sure that the US Government would be more than willing to sell one.

Dimensions of 1943 Battle class - 4 converted into radar pickets.
- 355ft pp, 379ft oa x 40ft 6in.
Dimensions of 1944 Battle class - the RAN version
- 355ft pp, 379ft oa x 41ft.
Dimensions of Daring class - RN and RAN versions
- 366ft pp, 390ft oa x 43ft.

So the Daring class class are 11 feet longer and 2 feet beamier than the RAN Battles.

This is a 1943 Battle class armed with Tatar and Ikara that I found on the internet.
I've no idea if it was feasible though.

This is the 1943 Battle class AD conversion as originally planned.
Is that a Limbo or a Squid between the Sea Cat launcher and the Bofors?

AFAIK the RN ordered and laid down its first Darings a year before the RAN ordered and laid down it's Battles. If that's correct why didn't the RAN order 2 Darings instead of its Battles?

Doubt that. Upper weight would be too high, there is little space for Tartar magazine left, and why, for Holy Kitten sake, it need Mark 32 box launchers in front? Presumably for RGM-66D anti-surface Standard missile? Weren't they Mk-13/22 compatible?
