And my son again is thinking of his next quad at least two sizes bigger, than
his current one ! Thank you for that ! ;)
 
But why?? It isn't like this is a high altitude launch.
I can't help but to think of something going terribly wrong - I can't help but to think of the 'operation crossbow' movie line about chicken coops.

I can think of two equally valid reasons for performing this experiment:

1. It is basically a proof of concept. Future applications could include launching from locations that are not accessible by ground, and using the altitude advantage given by a bigger quad copter as a re-usable first stage.

2. It is really cool. B)
 
Very nice approach for the new concept of proof !!

It would be better for the next time that you measure the reaction force from the rocket and induced effect on the quads.
