I've spent *years* trying to get the relevant reports, finally got one of 'em a few weeks back. This is the 1955 configuration of the Bell MX-2276... the predecessor to BoMi, to RoBo, to Dyna Soar and to Shuttle. While the initial 1953 reports continue to elude me, the report form '55 indicates that this design is the same configuration. So... here it is, the very first one.

Beautiful! But it's confusing now: is the MX-2276 BoMi or not BoMi? Early in the thread you call it its "predecessor", but the last two pictures are labelled "BoMi"...

In the FWIW category, here's a Bell-produced image showing some internals of MX-2276 as published in the RAF Flying Review issue dated December 1954. Anybody seen anything like this elsewhere?
