Looks like a Challenger turret (120mm gun, etc.) mounted on top of a 30 ton, medium tank chassis. Better for fighting in cramped city streets or narrow mountain roads lacking 70 ton bridges.

What is that image supposed to be showing us?

Even the original poster on the reddit r/WorldofTanks thread didn't know what this image was supposed to be showing ... other than representing "A real design by the British called Project Hotspur which was intended as a replacement for the Challenger tank. A mockup of this was made, but I don't have any more information on this tank."

That poster also included a top view of a scale model of this vehicle (attached in rotated form).

It seems to be under Carro 45T in the reddit thread, so presumably around 45t in weight.

It's definitely not a Challenger turret, as seen in the model, the majority of the turret is lower than the central section including the gun. The font for 'Hotspur' on the 3-view is unlike anything I've ever seen on an official document, so take the authenticity of the 3-view as somewhat dubious.

I've found no mention of a 'Hotspur' in Suttie's Chobham Armour or The Tank Factory. Might be buried in the text but not indexed. No mention of it in Dave Lister's Dark Age of Tanks (although it only goes up to the 1970s.

My first impression of the hull side elevation was 'Leopard'.

Looking at what appears to be 'vision' blocks on the turret makes me wonder if it was either, part of the study done by the school of infantry design group (Students) project or, nonsense projected by someone on April 1st.

Nothing site quite right and I say this as someone who is (Was) qualified on Chieftain and Challenger).

No skin in this game either, it just looks 'wrong'.
