Project 778 Landing Ships

Successors to the Ropucha class landing ships, 2 were possibly laid down in the Gdansk shipyard and broken up far from completion at the end of the Cold War. They could land the T-80 main battle tank due to increased airflow to the cargo hold, supporting the tank's turbine engines. This fast tank was more suited for rapid amphibious landing and assault compared to the T-72.
